Set in a secluded mountaintop cove near the town of Tuxedo in Western North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, Falling Creek Camp is a traditional boys summer camp that provides a unique opportunity for physical, spiritual and social growth. Falling Creek's leadership believes that boys living together with fellow campers from different parts of the world foster social maturity. Boys also need a place where they can just "be boys." Camp is a place to play and explore away from modern technology. Embracing traditional Christian values, Falling Creek welcomes all campers and strives to nurture spiritual growth in a relaxed setting Falling Creek's 525 acre campus is surrounded by hundreds of acres of privately owned lush forest and beautiful wilderness, and includes two spring-fed lakes; one mile of maintained and stocked Green River; many acres of pastures for a herd of horses, and two riding rings; five tennis courts; a large field for sports; a basketball court; 50-foot climbing tower; miles of trails for mountain biking, riding, running and hiking; and much more. Campers will also enjoy the use of the Falling Creek sailing facility on Lake Summit, as well as the Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest, and other wilderness areas close by. |

What You'll Be Doing |
Work from late May to mid-August, 2012 The Nature program opens minds while exploring the trails, lakes, bogs, streams and creeks in the southern Appalachian Mountains. As one of the most popular in-camp activities, the program spans a wide range of activities, from instructional programs to field trips away from camp. The program operates out of the Nature Hut, a large and well-equipped facility with adjoining mammal and bird enclosures. Nature & Environmental Educator staff are needed to teach what they know about the natural world to the campers. In addition to being a cabin counselor, this position involves animal care, lesson planning, field trips, and instruction. Flexibility and patience are crucial. Be prepared to be bombarded by questions while teaching campers about nature and the world. The Nature program is progression based—meaning that as your comfort level and proficiency increases, so do your responsibilities.
