or Snowboard
Instructor
The BASI, CSIA and CASI ski and snowboard qualifications awarded on Flying Fish courses are recognized in most snow sports countries, including many resorts in the USA. A second language is useful in Europe but don't worry if you speak only English as there are plenty of jobs for you too. Perks of the job? A free season's lift pass, skiing or snowboarding every day, cheap accommodation, resort discounts, great company, getting a life! The downside? The pay isn't great at entry-level but if you combine snow sports in the winter with water sports in the summer you have achieved the perfectly balanced outdoor lifestyle. Your ability on the mountain is just a small part of the mix employers are looking for. They are just as interested in whether you have the soft skills that make a good instructor: patience, a friendly personality, an encouraging nature and a sense of humor. If you have these qualities as well as a recognized qualification, employers will want you on the team. |

Destinations |
Flying Fish is based in Sydney, the undisputed capital of the Australian sailing world. While living ashore course members stay at Manly, with direct access to one of Sydney's most famous surf beaches. The Australian passion for watersports has made this great city on the water the best destination for training during the northern hemisphere winter. Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands are host to Flying Fish courses in Queensland. The Whitsunday group nestles in the protected waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The Barrier Reef needs no introduction to divers, of course. For sailors, the coral cays are the setting for intricate boat handling and navigation exercises. Find instructor courses in Australia »
There
are many reasons to visit the United
Kingdom and
the country's enthusiasm for sport is an important one. The
success of Britain's sailors in the Sydney and Athens
Olympics gave UK yachting a tremendous boost. Flying Fish is
looking forward to welcoming the 2012 Olympics to London,
with sailing events at Weymouth.
Flying Fish prides itself on finding the world's best training locations and believes that for yachting, the UK counts high among them. Yachtmaster trainees are encouraged to combine a period of learning in England with passage making and mile building in Australia. This is the way to experience real variety of sailing conditions. Sail,
dive and windsurf in Greece.
The warm waters of the Mediterranean and brisk local breezes
produce superb conditions for training here. You will make
rapid progress. Flying Fish is based at Vassiliki on the
Ionian island of Lefkas. Vassiliki is a small fishing town
which has kept its character despite being a welcoming host
to hoards of sailors, divers and windsurfers every summer.
The little harbour is lined with tavernas and bars, mostly
quiet but with one or two that are famous for their party
atmosphere!
Windsurfing and dinghy sailing are based at Club Vass, the best equipped windsurfing centre in Europe, and its next door neighbour, Wildwind, with its large fleet of catamarans and high performance sailing dinghies. Find instructor courses in Greece »
