Global Vision International: You are the Difference

Global Vision International (GVI) is an international volunteer abroad organization that offers opportunities to motivated individuals to help on sustainable projects in over 40 countries worldwide. GVI runs critical conservation and humanitarian projects working locally to promote sustainable development through environment research, conservation and education.

What You Can Do Abroad with GVI

GVI runs critical conservation and humanitarian projects in over 40 countries around the world.

GVI offers an incredible variety of opportunities to help on projects that make a difference to the issues that matter to you. Examples include teaching indigenous children in Central and South America, participating in rainforest conservation in Ecuador, helping conserve marine wildlife in the Seychelles, teaching Buddhist monks in Laos, and monitoring humpback whale activity in Brazil to name just a few! All programs are focused on helping local communities to achieve their goals of sustainable development through long-term partnerships and education. Each program also provides opportunities to learn about research in the field and students can gain college credit through participation.


Expeditions
Join groups of adventurous and like-minded individuals from 2 to 20 weeks as a member of an international team.

GVI ExpeditionsGVI Expeditions take volunteers to work on environmental and community development programs in some of the most awe-inspiring locations on Earth. All expeditions involve a hands-on approach to the issues and contain multi-focused opportunities, in-depth training programs, and various adventure side trips and activities. GVI expeditions can take volunteers into the crystal clear waters of spectacular dive spots, to the lush emerald rainforests of the Amazon, to the plains of Africa, or to rural indigenous communities in Latin America. All expeditions offer the chance to see some truly amazing things and really make a difference to the issues you care about.

Volunteer Projects
Join a GVI project and work with GVI field staff, local communities and organizations that have been specially selected for their commitment to conservation and humanitarian needs.

GVI Volunteer ProjectsChoose from 150 volunteer projects in 40 countries! If you are interested in volunteering with children, GVI has a variety of projects that include teaching, arts and sports, social work and childcare. For those concerned about the changing state of our climate, GVI offers the opportunity to volunteer on climate change projects around the world. Marine conservation projects offer you the chance to help endangered or threatened species. If you would like to volunteer to teach English abroad GVI has a large number of programs spanning the globe. GVI's building projects offer great short term volunteering opportunities to make a real difference to communities in a short space of time. Community volunteering abroad offers the unique chance to really immerse yourself in the local culture while also giving something back. For those interested in wildlife and conservation, GVI has a number of projects that focus on animal husbandry, care and rehabilitation, conservation, scientific research, and environmental education.

Internships
GVI runs a variety of internship programs including volunteer internships, conservation internships, wildlife research internships and education internships.

GVI Internship Abroad ProgramsInternship Abroad Programs offer personal and professional development opportunities via formal training and hands on professional work experience at exotic locations around the world. With a staff mentor to guide you along the way, a GVI internship offers fantastic opportunities for personal and professional development. Durations range from 2 weeks to 1 year. Types of internships include conservation, international development, environmental, eco-tourism, education and marine conservation. Internship placements are available in South Africa, Guatemala, Mexico, India, Thailand, Laos, Guatemala, Ecuador, Kenya to name but a few.

Volunteer Vacations

Volunteer Tours
For those who want to do more than a standard volunteer program, GVI also offer various combination options.

GVI Volunteer ToursOpportunities exist to work in several countries on similar programs, or you can try your hand at different types of programs in one location. Or better yet, you can do both and experience a variety of programs in different countries. The Teach and Travel options allow you to work on teaching projects in different countries for a total of 3-6 months, safe in the knowledge that GVI will organize your travel from one country to the next. Who Participates

GVI participants come from a range of different backgrounds and locations all over the world.

GVI participants come from a range of different backgrounds and locations all over the world. Volunteers must be flexible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic with a reasonable level of fitness and over 18 unless joining a family program. Generally no previous experience is required as all training is provided in the field.

Project Costs

GVI program costs generally include all food and accommodation, transport to and from the project, airport transfers, pre-departure support, discounted services, 24-hour in-country support and emergency phone.
