WHAT
YOU CAN DO
|
WHAT'S UNIQUE ABOUT
IIVN is that you
can choose from an all-inclusive program or customize the
type of internship or volunteer experience you would like.
Think about what you want to do, where you want to go, how
long you want to intern or volunteer, and when you want to
start. Don't worry, because you'll get plenty of help.
During the application process, the IIVN staff works with
you to figure out a program that best fits your needs and
qualifications.
Once you've settled on the
details, one of IIVN's international partners does all the
legwork and finds an experience especially for you. After
that, the rest is up to you—time to create, learn,
grow, and be exposed to whole new world.

Independent
Internship/Volunteer Placements
|
INDEPENDENT
PROGRAMS are
developed for individuals seeking a customized, internship
or volunteer experience. If you want something that will
expose you to a professional international experience, help
you get into graduate school, find an international job in
the future, help you advance in your career, or the ability
to try out a new field, the independent program is the best
option. Programs are unpaid, full-time, professional
placements, and are geared to mature, self-sufficient,
professional individuals who do not require hand holding and
planned social activities.
Internship participants
must speak fluent English, have an intermediate conversation
level of the language of the host country they desire to
visit, and be currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, an
approved higher education institution. Volunteer
participants must speak fluent English and are not required
to speak the language of the host country they are
visiting.

All-Inclusive
Volunteer Placements
|
INCLUSIVE VOLUNTEER
PROGRAMS are
developed for individuals who have a strong desire to
contribute to the betterment of society and help those less
fortunate, including women, children, the homeless and many
more, while experiencing a mixture of exploration,
excitement and increasing knowledge of other
cultures.
Most inclusive programs
include airport pick-up/return, a detailed arrival
orientation, housing, meals, ground transportation to/from
your project site, planned sight seeing and social events,
and 24/7 supervision with an English speaking IIVN program
director. The last week of your program is reserved as a
holiday week, which enables you to relax, reflect on the
time you've spent and enjoy the many benefits your host
country has to offer.
Volunteers must speak
fluent English and are not required to speak the language of
the host country they are visiting. Those who are
enthusiastic, self-motivated, dependable, flexible,
open-minded and eager to experience new cultures will thrive
in this program.
