Montana Yellowstone Expeditions (MYE) creates summer youth programs in southern Montana that provide programming and full scholarships for underserved youth ages 15-18 from California, Montana, New York and elsewhere. Each program is a multi-element experience that combines wilderness backpacking, a river trip, service learning and projects, equestrian training, leadership, and personal and group development into an effective 25-day experiential learning experience. Upon completion of the MYE summer program, alumni are engaged in a Life Skills follow-up program that builds upon new skills. This provides the connections and resources for each alum to become who they want to be while taking their initial steps into the adult world. |

Location |
MYE operates from a basecamp in the Tom Miner basin area of Montana's Paradise Valley, just north of Yellowstone National Park, and south of Livingston and Bozeman, MT. The picturesque Yellowstone river, the Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges and Montana's Big Sky make this an ideal location for a wilderness adventure program. From here it is easy to get into the backcountry for our multi-day hiking trips; river access is a short walk away and wildlife watching can literally happen in your new backyard. Basecamp facilities have everything needed to accommodate 2-3 groups of 10 students at a time. Staff housing is on site, or just next door, and provides shared indoor rooms, with bath, living area, and kitchen. MYE prides itself on being a professional place to work, with great facilities for teaching, learning, and living. |
