The New England Outdoor Center: Rekindle Your Spirit of Adventure.

The New England Outdoor Center is seeking hardworking, devoted individuals who are passionate about the outdoors, hospitality and customer service.

Named Best Adventure Resort in New England by Yankee magazine in 2014, the New England Outdoor Center (NEOC) is located on Millinocket Lake and home to Twin Pine Cabins, the award winning River Driver’s Restaurant and Penobscot Outdoor Center campground.

River Driver’s Restaurant features quality American fare highlighted by seasonal, local and fresh ingredients.Set along the shores of Millinocket Lake, Twin Pine Cabins and green built guest houses all feature great views of the lake and Katahdin, Maine’s highest mountain. Guests can paddle a canoe, kayak or swim in Millinocket Lake, play a game of ping pong, horseshoes, volleyball or basketball, shop in the Maine-made retail store or relax and unwind in the sauna or at the beach.

Located at Twin Pine Cabins, River Driver’s Restaurant is family friendly and has a diverse menu, featuring quality American fare highlighted by seasonal, local and fresh ingredients. The name River Drivers comes from the old days when logs were transported down the river by river drivers, men who guided the logs along the waterways. Today, Maine whitewater rafting adventures have replaced the river drivers and more upscale fare has replaced the rustic stews that were once made in the logging camps.

NEOC offers numerous activities for the outdoor enthusiast. The Penobscot Outdoor Center is the base lodge for the NEOC wilderness rafting resort. It includes great vacation amenities including Broken Paddle Pub, canoes, volleyball, large group fire pits and individual site fire rings. Many sites offer amazing views of Katahdin and paddling on Pockwockamus Pond. The campground features deluxe camping options, including campsites, canvas cabin tents and bunkhouses. POC is the closest lodging and camping to Baxter State Park.

In addition to lakeside lodges and cabins, NEOC offers a number of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Depending on the season, activities include whitewater rafting on Class I-V rapids, moose & wildlife tours, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
