Real Projects
In-country teams in Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Philippines, South Africa and Thailand assess and execute projects year-round to ensure sustainable and valuable developmen t projects for the host communities and volunteers. Projects in community development, education, environment & conservation, health, and social & economic development are the foundation of every ProWorld program. By joining ProWorld, volunteers become agents of positive change in the lives of others and themselves.

Come take part in life-changing service and mind-opening cultural excursion abroad! ProWorld's customized, hands-on internships match your skills and interests with our host communities' self-determined development goals. Apply your talents to meaningful, sustainable projects in the health care, environment, business/micro-enterprise or education sectors. Gain relevant, pre-professional experience as you contribute to grassroots development projects with local NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and community groups.

ProWorld's on-site Project Coordinators work year-round with host communities assessing needs, thinking creatively, and setting long-term goals for sustainable development and intern participation. Homestays, language study and cultural/adventure excursions encourage participants' complete immersion and cultural integration.

Program Highlights
Get real, pre-professional experience working side-by-side with ProWorld's local partners on real projects. In-group and personal time excursions will take you to local ruins, pristine beaches, remote community festivals and cultural events as you enjoy and learn more about the local cuisine and flavor of the community. The combination of meaningful service and unforgettable adventures makes for a fully comprehensive internship experience.

You'll emerge from your ProWorld experience with a better sense of yourself and your potential to impact communities around the world.

ProWorld works with you to match your skills, interests, and timeline with a meaningful volunteer project to aid a local community. Program Advisors work to find you the perfect project for you, and the on-site ProWorld team guides you through project planning, execution and conclusion.

Spend a spring, summer or fall semester with ProWorld! ProWorld's Culture and Development Studies Semester balances site-based academics, adventure, and service in sustainable community development projects for a truly rewarding study abroad experience.

Community service, field study, and adventure/cultural excursions complement coursework with local and international professors to give greater insight into the local culture and create a fully integrated, immersive program experience. Caring homestay families coupled with the high staff to student ratio assures sufficient support to facilitate the participant's safe and comfortable cultural adjustment.

Program Highlights
Work side by side with locals on a meaningful, community-guided development project, master your Spanish and work on your salsa moves, watch the sun rise over Machu Picchu, hike the Inca Trail, pet a llama, and explore lively Andean rural villages. Home stay accommodations, intensive Spanish language classes, and cultural excursions facilitate improved language fluency and full immersion in the richness of Peruvian life. Community development projects, field work, and adventure excursions complement classes to create an integrated program experience.
