The Ranch is nestled within 1,200 pristine acres in the heart of Mark Twain National Forest, and includes a multiple high challenge courses and zip lines, team development courses, climbing walls, rappel bluffs, mud obstacle course, high-adventure swimming and boating areas, horse stables, a primitive skills site, mountain biking and BMX trails, tree climbing, 3 miles of riverfront, and many other opportunities. The setting provides a unique therapeutic experience using adventure and wilderness programs for high-risk youth.
Using the transformative power of the wilderness and adventure, Summer Adventure Guides for Great Circle's Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch will facilitate a 10-week therapeutic adventure program with youth in residential treatment, siblings separated in the foster care system, and youth on the autism spectrum. During these trips, adventure activities such as ropes courses, team challenges, climbing, lake and aquatic adventure activities, and the outdoors itself are used as a catalyst to build relationships and produce victories that grow awareness, efficacy, connection, purpose and hope. Compensation is $390-$425/week plus lots of prodeals; and you also have the benefit of looking up at the night sky from your sleeping bag and saying to yourself, I'm making a difference in lives! Positions run from May 20th to August 4th, 2018 (with a break from July 1st–8th).
