Training is conducted in Lander, Wyoming. Educators will teach throughout the U.S. with an emphasis on courses in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

National Outdoor Leadership SchoolAre you a seasoned professional in the outdoor education, EMS or military special ops fields? NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute is looking for dynamic and experienced Educators to teach WFR, WFA and/or WEMT courses ranging in length from 2-30 days on a year-round basis throughout the US. Days are filled with dynamic lessons and exciting, realistic scenarios to best model the kind of medical situations you might face, whether you're an outdoor educator, guide or camp counselor. Applicants must possess several seasons of experience in extended backcountry leadership positions, a teaching background in either formal or experiential settings, and specific Wilderness Medicine and CPR certifications. Compensation includes $128–$237/day, plus travel and living expenses during courses. The next 2017 Instructor Training Course will be held November 12th–18th in Lander, WY with an application deadline of August 1st (there is a tuition charge to cover food, lodging and materials).

Outdoor Adventure Program Staff

Participants leave their familiar urban Washington D.C. environment and discover the great outdoors, often for the first time, at the rustic 62-acre Broken Arrow Ranch base camp just south of Jackson Hole, WY.

Become a positive role model. Develop proactive relationships. Teach life skills. Promote successful outcomes. Facilitate personal and team growth. Lead outdoor activities and trips. Outdoor Adventure Program Staff with City Kids Wilderness Project provide life-enriching experiences for underserved and at-risk youth. Applicants should have experience working with children in an outdoor, camp or residential setting (trip leading preferred), competence in teaching, counseling, and guiding youth (at-risk youth preferred), and general to advanced knowledge and ability in a variety of activities (from canoeing, backpacking and rock climbing to games & initiatives and experiential education). These residential, full-time positions run from June 6th to August 20th.
