Once you have certificate in hand, you'll be qualified to teach English as a foreign language worldwide. Jobs exist teaching at language schools, primary and secondary schools, and companies as well as privately to individuals. In some instances, depending on your previous experience and credentials, you'll be able to teach in colleges and universities. In general, the demand for English teaching is on the increase so there are opportunities to teach English all around the world. Earning a TEFL certificate through TEFL Worldwide and teaching English abroad is the first step to an exciting and rewarding adventure abroad.

TEFL Certificate Course

The 120-hour TEFL certificate course provides an excellent insight into the TEFL approaches and methods, as well as 8 to 10 hours of hands-on teaching practice in real classrooms. The teaching practice during the TEFL course will give you a solid foundation when beginning your first job teaching English abroad.

TEFL Job Guidance
Not only is TEFL Worldwide dedicated to providing a top quality TEFL course, they will also provide job guidance in finding current TEFL job openings for teaching positions and contacts for language schools throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Teaching jobs are available worldwide and year-round, so no matter which session you choose, you'll be able to start working shortly after the course. On average, TEFL Worldwide graduates are working a couple of weeks following the course; sometimes even sooner.

For those interested in staying in Prague, there is a job workshop on the last day of your certificate course where employers from Prague come to present their job openings.

The Essentials

Applicant Requirements
be at least 20 years of age
be a native English speaker or a non-native with a high proficiency in English
have the minimum qualification necessary to enter university (i.e. High School Diploma or A-Levels)
be an American, Australian, Canadian, Swiss, EU or any other citizen where you can enter the Czech Republic on your passport without having to obtain a Visa

It's beneficial, but not required, if you have:
previous teaching experience
previous language learning experience
other professional experience in people-oriented professions
previous experience living, studying or working in a foreign country

TEFL Worldwide graduate teaching in China

Typically TEFL course trainees are individuals who enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and cultures and who want to make a difference by teaching English. Such individuals include professionals who are looking for a change in their career or life, recent college graduates who want to gain international experience and travel abroad before settling into their career, tradesmen and women who want a totally new experience, and individuals who would like to spend their retirement years teaching English abroad.

Your First Move

TEFL courses are available each month and fill on a first-come, first-served basis. After completing the online application, you will be contacted within 1-2 working days. Once accepted into the program, a non-refundable 350 Euro (~$500 US) deposit is required. Housing will then be reserved in Prague for you and a TEFL Worldwide coordinator will guide you through the next steps.
