WorldTeach, a non-profit started through Harvard University, works with ministries of education to place volunteer teachers in low and middle-income countries. Volunteers are full-time teachers of students of all ages and teach independently or co-teach. Most volunteers teach English, while some teach math or science. A Year of Service: China, Ecuador, Pacific Islands (American Samoa & Marshall Islands) and Namibia.

A Summer of Impact: Brazil, Ecuador, India, Morocco, Namibia and South Africa.

Program Features:
Programs in the Pacific Islands are fully funded, covering all volunteer expenses including international airfare. The China program is funded but does not cover airfare.
If the program is not funded, the volunteer fee covers visa sponsorship, housing (generally with a host family), a monthly stipend, training conferences, meals and housing during training conferences, in-country transportation to training conferences, health and emergency evacuation insurance, full-time field support, continued professional teaching development from US-based coordinators and an international alumni network.
Opportunity for accredited TEFL certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), which will enable you to secure a paid teaching position after your service.
