Summer Camp StaffDeveloping the next generation of hunters, anglers, and marksmen, Camp Woodie is a week-long residential summer camp for kids ages 7-16 operated by the South Carolina Waterfowl Association. Join the team in fostering a fun, supportive, and adventurous environment where staff and campers can grow, explore, and make lasting memories together.Jump into a hands-on summer at Camp Woodie! Summer camp staff will serve as a cabin counselor (live with, lead, and look out for your cabin) and trained to help run a variety of specialty activities: • Adventure: Run the zipline, Sky Park high ropes course, climbing wall, canoes, and swimming hole.
• Conservation: Lead hands-on wetland and wildlife classes in the aviary, reptile house, and ponds, and help care for the camp's ducks, snakes, turtles, and alligator.
• Fishing: Teach knots, rigging, casting and catch & release at the bass and bream ponds.
• Archery: Teach stance, draw, and release on the 3D archery course.
• Shooting (21+): Coach campers on shotgun and rifle venues (5-stand, bunker trap, sporting clays, .22s) using eye and ear protection, muzzle control, and proper stance. Staff training runs May 16th–29th, and camp sessions run May 30th–July 30th. Enjoy time off from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, and there's a lot within reach: Lake Marion (the largest lake in South Carolina), Congaree National Park, and the coast is an easy drive for a beach day or a night downtown. Pay starts at $450/week, plus meals, shared living space in modern lodges with air conditioning and hot water, and paid training and any necessary certifications. Hunting, fishing, shooting, or camp experience is a plus; a teachable attitude matters more.
